CENTRO BECAS PROGRAM
ABOUt the bECAS (sCHOLArHIPS) PROGRAM At Centro Hispano of Dane County we believe that the time to invest in our Latino youth is NOW.
One of the greatest barriers that young Latino students face when it comes to accessing, and staying enrolled in college, is the cost of higher education. For young Dreamers, this barrier is only more pronounced as they are ineligible for in-state tuition at many American colleges. The Becas (Scholarships) Program offers scholarships to students who have participated in Centro's programs. Scholarships are used to help cover the cost of higher education. The program has been in existence for more than 20 years. We annually award an average of two to four $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors, and two $5,000 scholarships to students already enrolled in college to help them complete their studies. A minimum of two scholarships are awarded in each category per year. |
SUPPORT A BECAS PROGRAM SCHOLAR BY MAKING |
Screening of students for both of these scholarship awards happen in the Fall. If you are interested in joining the screening committee, please email lauren@micentro.org
The scholarships offered at Centro would not be possible without the generous support of many donors. However, each year we are limited in the amount of scholarships we are able to offer to our students. Help us support the dreams, goals and aspirations of Latino youth by making a gift in support of the Centro's Becas Program!

THE BECAS PROGRAM, A SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND
The Becas Program Endowment Fund was launched in 2016 with the generous support of donors and the American Family Insurance Dream Foundation. The endowment fund will help sustain the giving of scholarships in the future to Latino students.
